1. ONE TECH SEED / Seed Germination
OneTech seed is the biggest innovation in Papaya Seed in recent years. It corresponds to the arduous work of the organization, focused on creating value and well-being for all links in the productive chain of the industry. Next, the steps to have an optimal germination process are illustrated.

Substratum.
It is recommended to use quality substrate to fill the trays, of preferences that have as origin the mobs.
Among the quality parameters of the mobs, they stand out, which are sterile, so they do not require disinfection and are free of pathogens and conductivity of 0.8 ds / mt – 1 dS / m, ideal for germination. It is also advisable not to mix the substrate with humus, unless its conductivity is within the ideal ranges for the emergence of the seedling that is between 1.4 – 1.6 dS / m and is sterile.
Normally the failure in the emergency is directly related to high conductivities derived from organic humus of poor quality, in the same way it can generate predisposition to Dumping off.
Substrate Preparation
The humidity necessary to sow in a substrate of these types should be between 60-70% saturation. In practice it is exemplified, taking a wet substrate fist and squeezing, the runoff of 2-4 drops means that it contains the desired humidity.
Tray.
Trays from 200 cavities can be used, the most ideal are the forest ones with 25 – 50 cavities since they allow a better rooting pattern.
- With the wet substrate, the trays are filled , taking care that they are well filled but not compacted.
- Once the trays are filled with the substrate, the holes are made, which must be 1 cm. deep
- Then 1 seed is placed per cavity, and covered with dry peat, spreading gently and taking care that the seed is not exposed followed by light watering.
- The next step is to clocar the trays side by side to give their nursery handling, so that they receive the same amount of light.
- What should not be done is to place the trays on one another, when using seed with treatment because the lack of light delays the emergency.
Irrigation.
For the specific case of trays, it is irrigated and fertilized with nutrient solution as follows:
- Week 1: 500 ml / tray / day, once in the morning.
- Week 2 – 4: 1 L / tray / day, divide into 3 irrigation (morning, noon and afternoon).
- Week 5 – 8: 2 L / tray / day, divide between 3 – 5 waterings.
Fertilization.
They should be applied foliar on the seedlings taking care that there is not an excess application of fertilizer on cotyledons and real leaves, it is recommended to give a light watering after each application.

Observations:
- Never fertilize with the substrate completely dry.
- Leave a day without applying between each fertilization.
- Do not mix fertilizers with each other or with other products.
- The pH of the substrate and fertilizer application solution should be between 6 and 6.5, while the electrical conductivity between 1.4 and 1.6 mmhos / cm.
- Always keep the substrate at field capacity.
